Seven Bridges Nature Trail Beach Engagement Session | Milwaukee, Wisconsin

When Connie and Conor began planning their engagement session, they knew they wanted a location that offered the best of both worlds: beautiful Lake Michigan views and a natural, wooded setting. Seven Bridges Nature Trail in Milwaukee, Wisconsin was the perfect fit.
Their late-May engagement session brought together sandy beaches, lush greenery, and the kind of lakeside breeze that creates effortlessly romantic photographs. With one formal outfit and one casual outfit, Connie and Conor were able to create a gallery that felt both elegant and relaxed while showcasing the incredible variety this Milwaukee location has to offer.
Why Seven Bridges Nature Trail Is Perfect for Engagement Photos

One of the things I love most about Seven Bridges Nature Trail is the variety. While many couples think of it primarily as a beach location, the trail itself winds through a beautiful wooded area before opening up to the shoreline of Lake Michigan.
For couples who want beach engagement photos without sacrificing natural greenery, this location is hard to beat. The tree-lined paths provide a completely different look from the open shoreline, allowing for multiple backdrops during a single session.
The end of May was the perfect time to explore the trail, with vibrant greenery throughout the wooded areas and comfortable temperatures along the lakefront.
Connie & Conor’s Milwaukee Beach Engagement Session
Connie and Conor arrived with two outfits planned for their session: one formal and one casual. This combination always photographs beautifully because it gives couples a mix of elevated portraits and more laid-back, candid moments.
After making our way through the wooded trail, we arrived at the beach where the real magic began. Although it was a windy evening along Lake Michigan, the breeze added so much movement and emotion to their photos. The wind created a cinematic feel as Connie’s hair and outfit moved naturally, while the waves and shoreline provided a stunning backdrop.
Once we reached the beach, Connie and Conor kicked off their shoes and embraced the relaxed lakeside atmosphere. Some of my favorite images from the evening came from these moments, when they could simply enjoy being together
while taking in the view.

What to Know Before Choosing Seven Bridges Nature Trail for Engagement Photos

If you’re considering Seven Bridges Nature Trail for your own engagement session, there are a few things to keep in mind.
The beach does require a bit of a walk from the parking area, so I always recommend wearing comfortable shoes for the trail and bringing your photo shoes along if needed. The walk is absolutely worth it once you reach the shoreline.
Because the beach sits along Lake Michigan, wind is also something to expect. While it may seem intimidating at first, windy conditions often create some of the most dynamic and romantic photographs. The movement adds texture, energy, and emotion that can’t be replicated on a completely calm day.
For couples hoping to capture both beach and nature-inspired photos, Seven Bridges is one of my favorite engagement session locations in the Milwaukee area.
Planning Your Own Milwaukee Engagement Session
Whether you’re dreaming of a beach engagement session, a downtown Milwaukee engagement session, or something in between, choosing a location that reflects your personalities makes all the difference.
Connie and Conor’s engagement session was the perfect blend of natural beauty, relaxed moments, and stunning Lake Michigan scenery. I can’t wait to celebrate with them again when they tie the knot at The Barn at Timber Pointe in Mundelein, Illinois in 2027.
